We are incorporated as a Section 8 Non-Profit Company under the Companies Act, 2013, with corporate identity number (CIN) U88100TN2024NPL169084. We also hold current 12A and 80G registrations, a NITI Aayog Darpan ID, and a PAN. Every one of these details is listed in full alongside. In plain terms

What these registrations mean

If the codes above are new to you, here is what each one tells you in plain terms.

Section 8 company

A Section 8 company is a non-profit registered under the Companies Act. That structure holds it to the same standards as a company for how it is run and what it must report. But it also requires that any income be used only for the stated charitable purpose. It cannot be run for anyone's private profit.

12A registration

Our 12A registration means the Income Tax Department recognises us as a charity. The money we receive goes to our work, and is not taxed as income.

80G registration

Our 80G registration means a donor who gives to Vedicology Foundation can claim the tax deduction that Indian law allows for eligible charitable gifts.

NITI Aayog Darpan ID

Our NITI Aayog Darpan ID is our listing on the Government of India's official portal for voluntary organisations — one more public record that we are a recognised non-profit.

Together, these registrations are the recognitions that an established charity in India holds, and we are glad to put them all in one place for you.

Giving to us

Donations within India

Vedicology Foundation gladly welcomes donations from within India, and from Non-Resident Indians who hold Indian citizenship. Under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, a gift made by an Indian citizen living abroad — from their own funds, through normal banking channels such as an NRO account — is not treated as a foreign contribution, so we are able to accept it with thanks.

Registration under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act becomes available once an organisation has completed three full years of work. We look forward to applying as soon as we reach that milestone. Until then, donations the Act treats as foreign contribution — gifts from foreign nationals, or from people of Indian origin who have taken foreign citizenship, such as OCI and PIO card holders — are something we will be able to receive a little later in our journey. If you would like to give and you are not sure which route applies to you, do write to us — we will be glad to guide you.

We work entirely within Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The support we offer funds the education of adolescent girls and young women aged 18 and above — we do not fund minors.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is Vedicology Foundation a registered charity?

Yes. Vedicology Foundation is a Section 8 Non-Profit Company registered under the Companies Act, 2013 (CIN U88100TN2024NPL169084), and holds current 12A and 80G registrations, a NITI Aayog Darpan ID, and a PAN. All of these are listed above.

Can I claim a tax deduction on my donation?

Yes. Because we hold a valid 80G registration, donations made within India are eligible for the deduction that Indian tax law allows. Keep your donation receipt for your records.

Can the Foundation accept donations from abroad?

In many cases, yes. A Non-Resident Indian who still holds Indian citizenship can give from their own funds through normal banking channels, such as an NRO account — under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, this is not treated as a foreign contribution, and we welcome it. Registration to receive gifts that the Act does treat as foreign contribution — from foreign nationals, or from OCI and PIO card holders — becomes available after three full years of work, and we look forward to applying when we reach that point. If you are unsure which applies to you, do write to us and we will be glad to guide you.

Where is Vedicology Foundation based?

Our registered office is at AP 676, H Block, 15th Street, Annanagar, Chennai 600040. We work across Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
